Dedicated volunteer
The dedication of volunteer Patrick Eadington has been celebrated by Anglicare Tasmania.
Patrick has been a volunteer for Anglicare's Disability Employment Network Service (DEN) for over five years. In that time he has become a trusted and valued team member. He has also become a mentor to other people using the DEN service.
In his volunteer role, Patrick regularly writes the service's newsletter and organises and updates an annual client survey. He also maintains the monthly client statistics for the service - an essential record-keeping task.
Patrick recently received an award for Outstanding Team Work as part of Anglicare's reward and recognition program. A morning tea was held in Hobart to celebrate Patrick's award. He was presented with a certificate and a cheque for $500.00.
Patrick has cerebral palsy which affects his movement and coordination. He is a passionate and knowledgeable advocate for people with disabilities and feels proud whenever client colleagues find employment.
He regularly participates in programs at the police academy and other education facilities in order to raise community awareness about people with disabilities.
